What You'll Learn

In this workshop you will learn how to identify some of our most common native Irish wild plants. There will be a strong emphasis on safety, and you will leave with enough knowledge to allow you to forage with confidence going forward.

You will learn about the Forager’s Code, which encourages safe, respectful and responsible foraging. There will be plenty of tips on using native plants to create tasty and nutritious wild food dishes, drinks and simple herbal remedies. No cultivation, no chemicals, no food miles or no plastic packaging involved!

What should I wear?

Please wear sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots and bring a rain jacket, as we’ll be outdoors in all conditions.

A notebook is useful for taking notes or pressing leaves and flowers. A small bottle of water is recommended for rinsing wild leaves before tasting.

 Walks go ahead in most weather conditions. We only cancel in cases of very severe weather or official storm warnings.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible. Please contact us before booking to discuss any accessibility needs.

Yes, children are very welcome, but they must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on this foraging walk. They are welcome on our seashore foraging walk once they are kept on a lead at all times.

Yes, free parking is available at our locations.
