Wild Berry Foraging Walk
HEDGEROW BERRY FORAGING
From late summer to early winter our Irish hedgerows are abundant with a wonderful range of native wild berries. You have probably picked blackberries at some stage, but have you ever tried elderberries, rosehips, hawthorn berries, sloes or sea buckthorn?
These berries are all highly nutritious and rich in vitamin C with antioxident properties that can help to boost our immune systems at this time of year. Thay can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes and make delicious preserves, from jams, jellies and chutneys to syrups, cordials, tinctures and liqueurs.

What our participants say about their learning experience at The Herb School
We thoroughly enjoyed the introduction to foraging workshop in Denise’s beautiful wild garden. I learned so much. Her follow up emails are invaluable too. The newsletters link to all the right info and give the lowdown on safe and sustainable foraging.

I had a gorgeous morning with Denise taking part in the Introduction to Foraging. It is something I’ve been wanting to do for ages so was delighted. It was a lovely relaxed morning where we got a taste for what common plants we can forage and how we can use them. I will definitely be doing Denise’s other workshops. I highly recommend.

Such a refreshing new way to explore Dublin off the beaten track. If alternative cooking and using natural native ingredients are of interest to you, the foraging workshop is definitely something you will enjoy.
Magda Cybulska
Denise is a wonderful guide with a vast knowledge about every single plant around us. We went on an extensive walk and still only scratched the surface in terms of foraging, cooking and medicinal effects some of these plants have. I’ll definitely be back for another foraging walk!
Corinna Gast
Excellent! I was amazed at what I learnt in such a short space of time. Great fun!
