HERBS FOR HEALTH – ONLINE WORKSHOP SERIES
LIVE VIA ZOOM OVER FOUR WEEKS – WED 8TH, WED 15TH, WED 22ND, WED 29TH MAR – 7:30 – 9:00PM GMT
Herbs and wild plants have been used for food and healing, by all cultures, for
thousands of years. They improve the nutritional value, flavour and appearance of our food and many of them also have medicinal properties that are beneficial to health.
Growing even a small amount of our own food improves physical well-being, connecting us with nature and getting us outdoors for fresh air and exercise. Simple tasks such as sowing seeds, cooking a meal, foraging for your own wild garlic or preparing a simple home remedy all involve mindfulness, improving mental health.
TOPICS
The series of workshops, based on the wellness benefits of using herbs and native Irish wild plants for food and medicine, consists of four modules:
Module 1: Growing Herbs
Module 2: Cooking with Herbs
Module 3: Wild Herb Foraging
Module 4: Medicinal Herbs
DETAILS
Each module runs for approximately 90 minutes and includes a presentation lasting 60 to 75 minutes and an interactive Q & A session.
The modules can be taken as a complete series at a discounted bundle rate, but each module also works as a stand alone individual workshop.
The initial workshops will be presented live online via Zoom. Each participant will receive a recording of the workshop (that can be downloaded so you will have it indefinitely) and supporting material for each module.
Every participant will also have access to The Herb School community private Facebook group, where I will host regular live Q & A sessions. Members can post photos and questions on any aspect of using herbs and wild plants which I will answer personally.
You can find more detailed information on the topics and content of each module on the Online Courses page.
